The important Paris Saint Germain lost 2-1 in the semi-finals of the Champions League at Parc des Princes and ended the game 10-10.
A dream that turned into a nightmare. After an extravagant and masterful first half, PSG lost the match and their nerves against Manchester City on Wednesday night at Parc des Princes.
PSG smothered the English champions in the first half and returned to the dressing room after the first 45 minutes with a deserved advantage thanks to a goal from captain Marquinhos with a header from a corner by Di Maria (15). The scenario was perfect.
But in the second period nothing worked for Paris, which no longer saw the ball. The increasingly urgent men of Guardiola leveled off with the inevitable Kevin De Bruyne, whose center found no one on his way and who landed deep in Navas’ goal (64). Five minutes later, Riyad Mahrez gave Cityzens a free kick.
As if that wasn’t enough, PSG ended the match at 10am after Idrissa Gueye was excluded because of a very dangerous duel against Gündogan. The Senegalese will therefore not see the Etihad Stadium in the second leg on Tuesday 4th May, for which Paris leaves at a clear disadvantage. We have to hope for a capital performance again, as the Parisians delivered to Barcelona in the round of 16 and to Munich in the quarter-finals. All hopes are allowed, but they remain slim.
