Covid-19: 32 new deaths in three days in Occitania, more resuscitations

32 patients died of Covid-19 in Occitania between Tuesday and Friday, days when the regional health authority publishes weekly numbers on the development of the coronavirus in the region. 3,370 people have died in Occitania since the virus emerged. In detail, the deaths are distributed as follows: 5 in Aude, 1 in Aveyron, 3 in Gard, 8 in Haute-Garonne, 7 in Hérault, 1 in Lot, 1 in Lozère, 1 in the Hautes-Pyrénées, 2 in the Pyrénées -Orientales, 1 in the Tarn and 2 in the Tarn-et-Garonne. No new deaths occurred in Ariège and the Gers.

Hospitals and clinics in our region currently treat 1311 patients (-39 in three days), including 272 patients in the intensive care unit (+26 in three days). All departments in the region have multiple patients in the intensive care unit.

According to the ARS, an average of 1,133 positive cases per day were recorded in Occitania. 7,930 positive cases were registered between March 5 and March 11, 2021. The positivity rate of the test is 5.4% compared to 5.3% three days ago.

670,000 vaccines

As everywhere in France, the vaccination campaign will continue in Occitania. More than 670,000 injections have already been performed in our region: 442,759 initial doses and 228,233 people who received both doses. 7.6% of the population of Occitania are now vaccinated against Covid-19.
