Covid-19: 3,849 ICU patients, a high since November 27

The basics The number of patients in the intensive care unit continues to increase in France every day. It has reached a level that has not been exceeded since November 27, 2020.

According to the Directorate-General for Health, 381 people were admitted to the intensive care unit on Monday. A total of 3,849 patients are currently being treated in intensive care units in French hospitals and clinics. This high number had not been reached since November 27, 2020.

25,195 patients will be admitted to hospitals on Monday. 1,584 new patients were hospitalized in the past 24 hours.

In the last twenty-four hours, 5,327 new contaminations were registered. The number of new infections is usually lower on Monday than on other days. It was 4,703 a week ago. The English variant accounts for 64.6% of the new contamination cases, according to Public Health France.

Almost 2 million vaccinated in France

The Ministry of Health says 1,988,752 people received the two injections of vaccines (i.e. 3% of the total population and 3.8% of the adult population). 3,978,421 people received at least one of the two injections.
