Covid-19: closure of banks and certain sectors of Toulouse from this Sunday

The essentials The Prefect of Haute-Garonne has just announced the closure of the banks and certain sectors of Toulouse from this Sunday March 28th.

Despite the warning from the prefecture and the intensification of police checks, the police found that very large numbers of people were sitting and gathering on the banks of the Garonne, the vast majority of whom were not wearing masks and did not practice the minimum required distance.
In addition, despite the municipal prohibition decree, heavy alcohol consumption was found in the same places.

For example, the prefecture of Haute-Garonne decided to continue the closure of certain sectors of Toulouse. This measure applies from this Sunday, March 28, 2021, and up to and including Monday, April 12, 2021, on the following sections of the public road:

the banks of the Garonne below the Place Saint-Pierre, the Quai Saint-Pierre, the Quai Lucien Lombard, the Quai de la Daurade, the Quai de Tounis and, accordingly, the Henri-Martin-Promenade; the Place de la Daurade; the meadow of filters; the quay of republican exile.

The list of places affected by the obligation can be updated according to the development of the health situation, specifies the prefecture. It also shows that the incidence rate in the city of Toulouse is increasing rapidly as it again exceeds the maximum alert threshold (264.5 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

As a reminder: Failure to comply with this obligation will penalize offenders with a fine of 135 euros.
