Covid-19 in Occitania: 19 new deaths in four days, 127 patients in intensive care

The essential ARS Occitanie announces that 19 new people have died of Covid-19 in the region in four days. The number of hospital and intensive care patients continues to decline. 54% of residents have already received their first dose of vaccine.

Covid-19 continues to decline in Occitania. The number of hospital admissions is 753 (-43 people between last Friday and Tuesday), including 127 people in the intensive care unit (-26 between last Friday and Tuesday).

The pandemic has caused 19 new deaths in the past four days. The Haute-Garonne has passed the threshold of 800 deaths, the Lot the milestone of 100 victims. The 19 new victims are in: Aude (1), Aveyron (2), Gard (5), Hérault (4), Lot (1), Hautes-Pyrénées (2) and Tarn (2). In total, Covid-19 killed 4,543 people in Occitania.

According to the latest figures from the ARS, an average of 503 positive cases per day were recorded in the region between June 1 and June 7. The test positive rate is 1.9%. More than 184,000 tests have been carried out in our region in the past seven days.

Over 3.7 million vaccine doses

More than 3.7 million doses of vaccine have been administered in Oceania since January 4, 2021. So far, 54.4% of people over the age of 18 have had their first injection. 64% of the 50 to 64 year olds are vaccinated and 86.9% of the over 65 year olds.
