The basics Minister of Health Olivier Véran confirms that patients who have received one dose of AstraZeneca will receive another vaccine for the second injection.
The many French people who had already been vaccinated with a dose of AstraZeneca had been asking the question for several weeks. What would happen for the second injection? Health Minister Olivier Véran gave the answer this Friday morning.
Not all of these patients will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine. Instead, they’ll get another vaccine. “It makes perfect sense,” said the health minister. Will these patients receive a dose of Pfizer, Moderna, or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which will be marketed in Europe from April 19th?
It is the Haute Autorité de Santé that provides the answer. She will hold a press conference this Friday morning at 10 a.m.
The AstraZeneca vaccine is being suspended in France for people under 55 years of age due to some cases of thrombosis discovered in Europe.
