L’Isle-Jourdain. Crash on the RN 124 in the direction of Toulouse-Auch: 8 minor injuries

The essentials An impressive traffic accident occurred around 5.45 p.m. on the RN 124 near L’Isle-Jourdain in the direction of Toulouse-Auch. Many helpers went there. The multiple collisions affected 20 vehicles, but luckily left only 8 minor injuries.

This Friday around 5.45 p.m. there was an accumulation on national road 124 in the direction of Toulouse-Auch. The accident with a total of twenty vehicles over almost two kilometers mobilized many rescue workers and the gendarmerie.

The collisions occurred after exit 12 (the first in the direction of L’Isle-Jourdain from Pujaudran) after a first motorist lost control of his vehicle in difficult weather conditions (rain and sleet).

32 people involved

About forty firefighters (13 vehicles in use) were mobilized after the alarm. The Smur d’Auch, the cross-departmental direction of Südweststraßen (Dirso) and the mayor of L’Isle-Jourdain also went to the scene of the accident.

In the end, more fear than harm: the multiple collisions left only eight minor injuries, which were evacuated to the Auch hospital center and the Toulouse University Hospital (Purpan).

24 people emerged unscathed from the accident. They were evacuated in several minibuses provided by Sdis 32 to the gym of the neighboring college (where doctors and nurses were on the squadron). Garages in the area have also been mobilized to evacuate the many damaged vehicles.

The accident caused serious traffic disruptions: the RN 124 is still interrupted between exit 11 (Pujaudran) and exit 13 (L’Isle-Jourdain West).
