Historic double for the two French pilots. Fabio Quartararo wins the Doha Moto GP on Sunday 4th April ahead of his compatriot Johann Zarco. It is the first time since 1954 that two French have made it onto the podium.
The Niçois from the Yamaha team creates a terrific race. Despite his bad start, he overtook eight competitors to take the fourth win of his career in a very close final. A success that he himself describes as “very special”.
Johann Zarco started second on the grid and struggled to maintain his position. In particular, he overtook his team-mate Jorge Martin (3rd). It thus meets the expectations of the start of the season and climbs to the top of the world championship standings.
The excellent performances of our French drivers promise a great spectacle for the next meeting in Portugal on April 18th and why not a home win on May 16th.
