The Basics A 40-year-old man visibly drunk, violently attacked a 101-year-old man who was sitting in the village square of Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes in the Pyrenees-Orientals.

Free, evil, repulsive. A 101-year-old man sitting quietly on a bench in his village in Caudiès-de-Fenouillède, Pyrenees-Orientals, was violently assaulted on Monday afternoon April 19.

The 40-year-old attacker came up to him and shouted “You will answer me”. The old man, who did not understand the situation, did not answer. The man then grabbed the centenarian’s stick and hit his head with it. Under the force of the attack, the stick broke in two. The old man will be given a ten day ITT due to his injuries.

The author of the attack is a 40-year-old resident of the city. As he approached his victim, he went with “two dogs, a goat and a bottle in hand, visibly drunk,” the granddaughter tells the Independent on her 100th birthday. Shortly before, he allegedly insulted a woman who was leading her dog off a leash.

The attacker was arrested and held in custody pending his immediate appearance on Friday. He had been convicted of violence in the past.
