Rugby: Three Toulouse residents vie for European Player of the Year award

The three main “red and black” players and two from La Rochelle appear in the selection presented on Tuesday 4th May by the EPCR, the organizer of the European Rugby Cups.

A constellation of stars. The final list of rugby players still fighting for the title of “European Player of the Year 2021” looks good. The identity of the members of this “five-member club” was revealed on Tuesday afternoon, May 4th, by the EPCR, the company that organizes the European rugby cups.

Logically, the players from Stade Toulousain and La Rochelle, who face each other in Twickenham in the final of the European Cup on Saturday 22 May, monopolize these places.

Three “red and black” players: hooker and captain Julien Marchand, Scrum Half Antoine Dupont and Jerome Kaino from the third row.

The other two players play at La Rochelle: the third row from Gers, Grégory Alldritt, and the second row from New Zealand, Will Skelton.

These 5 players were selected from an initial selection of 15 rugby players by a jury of experts and votes from the public on the Internet.

The verdict was announced at the end of the European Cup final on May 22nd.
